May 2014

I will post a few pics here from our fast trip to the States... and then maybe a few more later, etc.  I don't want to overwhelm you with the 221 pictures I took!!  haha!  I'm just sorting through slowly and finding the best ones.  The trip was fast, and once we rented a car and got out of sin city we really enjoyed ourselves and the wonder of our marvellous Creator!

Valley of Fire State Park

Chillaxing... well actually it's me setting the timer on the camera and then running like a crazy woman to my spot and faking a very relaxed look while Brian counts to 10.
(p.s. yes I am flushed- it was hotter than a firecracker out there)

Brian saw a slight movement out of the corner of his eye, and noticed this little guy.
He was so camouflaged I'm surprised we could even see him!

I nearly died on the hike to this spot.  It was so incredibly hot I thought I was going to spontaneously combust!  Seriously.  But the site was quite something to behold.  The sun was getting low in the sky and the shadows just added more beauty to the scene.
Then we broke the law.
I knew I could not hike all the way back (we did not take water because we had no idea how long the hike was going to be) and besides, this part of the park closed at sunset.  Brian could see the road from this high vantage point and so we decided to take a shortcut back!  It's a big no!no! to go off of the trail....
we live dangerously.

Zion National Park

The cacti were blooming!  They honestly looked like roses.  Pink, yellow, maroon.  Brian stopped the car several times and pulled over so I could get some pictures.

Rockville, Utah

Couldn't help myself.  I just love the old abandoned buildings along the way, and I enjoy how the construction changes depending on the area you are in.

Stunning!
This photo already has over 325 views on my Facebook Photopage

Thanks to my patient husband who will always stop the car, pull off the road and even 4x4 down a wash with our rented Ford Fusion so I can get the shots I want!!

Mother's Day

A beautiful day to celebrate all those ladies with mothering hearts.  I was celebrated too :D  Faith played a beautiful piece on the piano for me this morning when she got up and then we went to fellowship where Brian and John led the singing and all the women present received a little plant from the Sunday School Children.

In the afternoon we went for a drive to try to find a stone house we had seen a few years ago.  We found it and I had fun taking a few pictures there.

And one more thing:
