Favourites # 11
Birthdays always bring back memories.
Today (Jan 18) would have been my Dad's birthday.
I looked through my pictures,
as I often do, and found this gem.

Favourites # 9
This is a picture of the pin my brother-in-law and his wife (my sister) are handing out.
For me, this is the cure for all of our diseases.
My brother-in-law Mark, has cancer.
This coming week he begins the long journey of having a bone marrow transplant.
It's risky,
it's dangerous -
but the flip side...
amazing.
A new lease on life!
God is that way.

Favourites # 8
Trip to Jasper for our 25th Anniversary...
When the sun shines... wow!
We saw various wildlife - thankfully Brian didn't mind stopping every few seconds for me to get out and snap a picture.
This little guy behaved like a dog. He wasn't scared of any person or vehicle - he was squirrel hunting.
This mommy moose was lying in the bottom of a creek... her two little ones were nearby but I couldn't capture them... we were quite high above them, and they were in the bushes.

The day was utterly grey... it felt like I was taking pictures in a Black and White setting - so beautiful:

We drove out to Patricia Lake - the wind was blowing hard, but you can't tell - the lighting was perfect:
The next day we drove to Athabasca Falls. This was so neat to see... I've only ever seen it in the summer - but the ice! God's own handcrafted Crystal Cathedral!
When we left Jasper, the sun was once again shining on the mountains - we kept encouraging each other to look in the rear view mirror - "look now" "oooh, look now!"
Brian stopped so I could take one final picture.... aaaah!

Enjoying an early birthday present from my friend Diane... "Let's get Louise over her fear of horses!" Diane's goal is to have me trail riding by the end of summer... Diane is so good for me... she's an amazing woman!

My Favourite Things # 1
I'm thinking that this year I'm going to feature my favourite things of the year - as it goes by. Sometimes it will be a picture, sometimes an object, a person, an event and the like. Hopefully I can keep it up to some degree and it'll be fun to look back once the year is over.
