A Day of Celebration!

We woke up bright and early because we really wanted to participate in a tradition that the Sunday Fellowship we attend has been keeping for many years.

It was Palm Sunday, the day Believers in Jesus are reminded of Jesus' triumphant entrance into Jerusalem just before His Death and Resurrection.  Gathered to symbolically replay this event,  we all carried Palm Leaves, some had tambourines and shakers, there were flags, a horse ridden by a young boy, a guitar and celebratory singing.  Just as we were finishing the walk, the Sun came out and shone warmly on all of us while Brian led the final song of Hosanna!  Hosanna!  Hosanna in the Highest!

I forgot my camera - it was an early start - but the cell phone came to the rescue as usual :-)

The day continued in celebration as Faith was asked to accept an award at the Sherwood Park Music Festival Grand Concert in the afternoon.

Faith had entered the Festival with 3 pieces, and as a result of that, received 2 awards for her Canadian Selection of a Jazz piece by Oscar Peterson.  One of her awards was actually presented to her by Mr. Tim Uppal, MP Edmonton-Sherwood Park.  Wow!  She said that was pretty cool!

Yes, it was a day to celebrate!
